Operation Southern Partner – Day 8
After three days of working closely with the Trinidad & Tobago Defense Forces building relationships and sharing information, it was time for a bit of a break. Our last day full day on the island ended with an invitation to the Military Sports and Family Day. This would give everyone a chance to chat with our counterparts in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Each of the Forces compted in various events, including track and a dance skit. Here are a few images from the festivities.

And then afterward, I had a chance to take a friends advice and spend some time at Maracas Bay!

One of Maracas Bay’s specialties is “Bake and Shark”…but while I don’t eat shark, I did try the “Bake and Cheese” and this other potato dish. It was delicious!

And here’s a shot me diving into the warm water! While I was only there for a short time, it was well worth the drive!

So did our T&T friends win the dance competition? We spent many hours watching them practice.

You really captured the essence of sports day. I could almost hear the music as I looked at the photos!
