Associated Press Image and new cover shots
The month of January has been a good month. I landed three more covers; one for San Mateo Daily News, one for In Flight USA, and one for Airliners. But while that is really good, the highlight was a photo of mine being picked up by Associated Press Images. For those of you who don’t know, AP is the international news wire service that provides hundreds of thousands of newspapers and magazines stories and images. And I’m proud to say that one of my images made it’s way all around the world and published in countless of newspapers. Here it is on Yahoo! France.

The image was that of the students at Junipero Serra High School, who wanted to show support of the Super Bowl bound alum, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. They took to the field and spelled out “BEAT THE GIANTS.” And I was hired to do the air to ground shoot from a helicopter. A perfect human interest story for the masses. And once AP put it on the wire, any newspaper or magazine was able to download and use the image for their story. I don’t know the exact number of papers that it was published in, but some of them included:
And in addition to those, a few other local papers also picked it up. Here is the cover for the San Mateo Daily.

Here is the cover shot for Airliners. Available at nationally at Barnes & Noble, Borders and your newsstands on Feb 26.

And lastly, but not least, my shot of a the US Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 gracing the cover of In Flight USA. Available at aviation museums, high traffic airport businesses, flight schools, pilot shops, airport terminals, and FBOs.

Yeah, it was a good month. ![]()
