Atlantic Strike VII - Avon Park, Florida. June 16-18, 2008

More then 800 joint and coalition warfighters from around the world gathered at the Avon Park Air Ground Training Complex in Florida to train in the complex art of coordinating close-air support for ground maneuvers. This exercise provided JTACs (Joint Terminal Attack Controllers) similar scenarios that they will encounter in Afghanistan and Iraq. Atlantic Strike VII emphasizes digital communication between joint terminal attack controllers, a mobile air support operations center, and close-air-support aircraft such as the A-10s, AC-130s, B-52s, HH-60s, and UAVs.
